Many business men today are toting around “man bags” that are bigger and heavier than traditional briefcases. The average man bag weighs about 14 pounds and can cause back pain.
DALLAS— Haroon Rasheed is a busy man and carries around a Texas sized bag–which he admits is a man bag.
“I call it a briefcase but it’s clearly not your traditional briefcase,” Haroon rationalized. “It’s probably a man bag.”
Now that we have that settled you’re probably wondering what Haroon has in the bag besides his laptop and smartphone.
“I keep an extra change of clothes, extra scrubs when I’m working,” Haroon said. “I have lots of paperwork that I carry around. I have some personal items. If I’m running late for a meeting I’ll have my toothbrush, I’ll have my cologne, deodorant –so I do have a lot of other stuff that you typical would not find in the bag.”
Haroon’s bag checks in at almost 19 pounds–almost 5 pounds heavier than the average Brits man bag.
The price of convenience is pain–in his neck, back and arms.
